Hi Everyone --

It seems that the monsoon has started -- or nearly started! We have had rain every day, sometimes with thunder and lightening, sometimes very heavy, but it doesn't rain all day and all night yet. Doug was sneaky and fixed the skylight without any of the Indians seeing him, so that leak is fixed nicely. Because of that, we can have the light when it is cloudy and not have the leaks. Last year we had a blue tarp thrown over the skylight, so it was always dark and dreary.

Church today was disappointing. We had 4. Our 3 and the one gal that came last week from Bangalore and got off the bus and came to church. We haven't heard from anyone else to know what happened to them. I guess it's feast or famine -- or in other words, we're not ready for a branch yet.

Hannah finished Seminary this week, so that's a good milestone. That was our close hurdle to leaving for the US too. We leave a week from tomorrow -- the 16th. We have a 4 hour ride to Mumbai, have dinner in a swanky hotel to pass the time, have the hotel transfer service take us to the airport, get through all the lines and our flight leaves at 12:50 a.m. the morning of July 17. That doesn't seem like much fun!

I did get Doctor appointments this week -- it was amazingly not as difficult as I thought it would be. They are all scheduled and ready to go when we get to Waterloo.

We had a productive week getting things ready to go. We got Hannah's prototype dress done and it was fine. We got the brown fabric taken to the tailor and he has all the measurements to make the 4 for the bridesmaids at Craig and Heidi's wedding. I think this will work out fine. We had to give up on the ribbon -- the choices here are just random. We did get the bangles though, so that will be fun.

I did get started on my dress, but it needs some tweaking. And, I'm waiting for a 22" zipper to come from the US. I am confident I'll be able to get it done this next week and be ready for the wedding.

My friend Heather and her family left for an R&R trip to Australia on Friday -- we will miss them.

Hannah's last test didn't come in time, so Heather will have to mail it back to BYU and she'll have to order it again when we get back in August. She'll have to restudy the whole class to get it right. She has 3 classes, in hand, to study this summer to make up for a couple classes she missed this spring. She'll do fine on those. It's nice to have something to do sometimes.

Doug leaves for Nasik tomorrow for an overnight trip. They're looking at parts for the tractor. He told the Indian guys he's meeting there to put him in the same hotel they are in. I think that's going to be a BIG adventure that I'm happy to miss.

We hope everyone is well and happy! We miss you lots!
Love, Lucinda

Doug, if you're lucky, your hotel in Nasik will be right in the heart of the automotive district. Good luck on your adventure.
