Hi Everyone --

It has been another interesting week here in Pune. Doug left on Monday to go to Delhi for a business trip. He was to return home Wednesday morning. The flight was delayed due to fog and they sat on the runway for a couple of hours waiting to depart. Unfortunately, Doug got really sick -- the same thing I had a couple weeks ago -- with vomiting and diahrea. "Use the airsickness bag! Use the airsickness bag!" were the calls from the stewardesses as he tried to reach the bathroom during takeoff. They finally made it to Pune and he made it home -- white as a sheet and totally exhausted. Doug has been sick/recovering the rest of the week. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day . . . This has just been a really bad month for us. I keep thinking in the back of my mind, "If I could just get to the US and get better, all would be well."

We also had JD visitors from the US again. We did all the markets and the shopping the same as the week before. We feel an obligation to help people out and see things around town while they are here. It's a lot more work than I thought.

We had 5 for church today. Three of us and 2 investigators. The missionaries flew to Mumbai yesterday and they are planning to come to Pune tonight or tomorrow to teach this family. Maybe they will come for dinner tomorrow night. They are staying in a hotel about 10-15 minutes from our house. We got an email from a member in California saying he had an Indian gal from Pune working for him there and her sister was here and she was interested in the church. She is in Mumbai 2 weekends a month and in Pune 2 weekends a month. That might be tough with the strange schedule we have for church between Pune and Mumbai. We will keep working on it and praying for the branch to grow.

The daughter of Mary (my housekeeper) was bit by a dog this week. She is 10 and this is her second bite and her second round of rabies shots. The series is now 5 shots in the arm, but they are fairly expensive. We were able to help out with that -- could any of you sat by and let a little girl suffer without the rabies shots? Well, I couldn't, so we did help out.

I picked up all the saris that the JD women bought last week. Now I have to find a way to get them back to the US with another JD worker.

We missed the big family party for the JD tech center last night. Doug wasn't up to it. We went last year and I was interested in going this year to see if my attitude/perception had changed. Now we won't know until next year.

We've heard about cold weather and snow in many places, and severe storms in the south. We hope everyone is safe and well.
We miss you.
Love, Lucinda
