Hi Everyone!
This has been a very hectic and exciting week -- and stressful. There were a bunch of guys here from Waterloo JD to check out Doug's new tractor and 4 brought their wives. Doug was under the gun at work and then we had to party with all these people all week.
We went to dinner at one of the hotels in town Tuesday night. Of course, we got sick from eating there. No one else seemed to (or would admit it). Mrs. Prashant took the ladies shopping on Tuesday to the tourist handicraft store and the mall. They had fun. Wednesday I took them to the fruit and vegetable market and the grocery store. They liked that too. They took tons of pictures and enjoyed being where the Indians shopped.
Wednesday night we had them all over to our house for dinner. I hired a cook to come and cook the chilly chicken and I made potato salad, pasta salad, baked beans, fruit salad, bread, brownies and ice cream. I thought it was a very good dinner -- it was probably too American for these people who had just gotten here. One of the ladies mentioned that she wanted a camel ride. I told her I would ask my driver. Feroz accomplished the impossible -- again! He found the camel man and had him come to the house so everyone could have rides before dinner. Anyone that wanted to ride could. Feroz also negotiated the price of 500 rupees for everyone. It was a great deal and they all had a good time.
Thursday we went to the Tulsibaug for Indian shopping for clothes, shoes, etc. etc. They liked shopping there and bought jewelry, clothes, shoes (which only lasted one day), trinkets, rickshaws, and any other kinds of things they thought they needed. A couple of them still wanted saris. We went out to Laxmi Road. We only got 3 stores down and we went into a sari shop. They had us go up the steps, take off our shoes and we sat on a mat while they tossed sari after sari down in front of us. The pile got to be about 2 feet deep. The ladies were finally able to make their decisions -- one got 2 and the other got 1. The prices were right too. The little gal from the shop took us to the petticoat seller where they got petticoats that matched their saris. Then we went to the tailor. He measured and wrote down (drew) what styles they wanted for their blouses. It took quite a bit of time, but we got it done. I go back next Thursday and pick them up. We will send them back with the next JD Waterloo guys that come here.
It felt good to rest on Friday -- they left for Delhi that day!
There were only 3 of us for church today. We watched Pres. Hinckley's funeral for Sunday school. We had a slow connection today, so it was mostly the audio part.
We are doing fine -- we started our second round of antibiotics in 3 weeks. It seems to be helping. We just need to get rid of this bug and we'll be ok.
Have a good week!
Love, Lucinda

Bless your heart, Lucinda, for being such a great hostess while you were feeling poorly. I worried about you all week knowing the JD people were there. Rest up and feel better, my friend.
Sorry we missed you on Saturday Mom. Corbin was really sad. I think he'll keep practicing the song he was going to sing for you all week anyways. Hopefully we'll get to talk before Saturday this week. Love you.
