Hi Everyone --
This has been a regular week -- we've gotten back into the swing of things very easily. The time change between India and China is only 2 1/2 hours, so it wasn't a bad adjustment at all.
We went to see Monsters vs. Aliens yesterday. I understood it was in 3D, but we didn't have glasses or anything. It was a fun movie and Hannah giggled through the whole thing.
We also were able to find the street vendors out on North Main Road yesterday afternoon. Usually, they are not there because the police come and confiscate all their goods and throw them in jail. I asked when the police come -- 9 a.m. every day, and then they leave to go home at 5 p.m., so the shops put out their things after that. We were looking at wall hangings again -- for Michelle. We got the guy down from 3800 rupees for 2 to 2000 rupees for 2 hanging. Doug has gotten a lot tougher since we were in China. It's just all a big scam anyway! The bad part is that I always feel like I've been ripped off!
We packed the "big purple" suitcase today, with all the India and China treasures we're bring to the US. My big purple suitcase took a beating on our last trip in Dec. It landed on a corner and the wheel just popped off. The front pockets were torn too. I took it to an American Tourist shop and they assured me they could fix it for 1500 rupees ($30 US). I figured it was expensive but I needed my bag, so I had it done while we were in China. When I got back I got a call to come pick it up. It's as good as new (I hope), with 2 new wheels and all stitched up.
Hannah took 2 finals this week -- History and Physics. She took her French final before we left for China and got an A- on it and an A- for her course grade. Way to go! This next week she will be taking her English and Literature finals. That leaves 2 -- Algebra 2 (which she ordered this weekend), and Interior Design. I think she will have to go to the decorating shops in the US to get samples of carpet, drapes, pillow covers, upholstery, etc. before she can finish this class. She will be able to get it done by the end of June (including the final).
We had 7 to church today. One was a non-member. We got to watch the 2nd hour of Saturday a.m. session. It's going to take us forever to watch conference at this pace! That's OK -- we enjoyed it a lot!
We hope everyone is well and happy!
Love, Lucinda

Hannah, félicitations sur votre grande catégorie française ! La subsistance travaillant à elle et un jour vous parlera français aussi bien que moi.
