Hi Everyone --
Another week has passed -- and I don't really know what to write about.
We went to Mumbai again today for church -- Joy was confirmed (by Doug) and also received the Aaronic Priesthood. Hopefully we won't have to go back to Mumbai for church for a while. It takes 2-2 1/2 hours, our driver is very good, but it is a hard drive. Lots of going fast, careening around curves, starting and stomping on the brakes, etc. I suppose we would appreciate it more if we had to take the bus to church! We do feel exhausted when we get home at 4 p.m.
We are definitely going to China. We asked our tour guide representative to book the tour for us. I don't think I've ever written so many emails to a person in my life. After a stack up of 40-60, I would start another new one and they would stack up again. I think I restarted the whole process 4-5 times. Our flight leaves Thursday April 9 at 10:20 p.m., and we get into Beijing at 3:10 p.m. the next day. I think we're going to have plenty of time on the airplane.
We will think about what to pack this week. Hannah said that one day this week it was 50 F. I don't know if that was the low, the high, the average, or what. I don't know if it's the rainy season either. We'll get it all worked out. I think we do need to pack warm clothes, since it's been 40 C. here -- over 100 F.
Doug and I went to see "The International" yesterday. I think it would be a movie rated R in the US, but it is rated PG-13 here. Lots of interesting things to think about! Between that and the State of Iowa upholding gay marriage in their Supreme Court, things just look worse and worse to me.
Hopefully, Hannah will have some exams to take this week before we leave for China. (She keeps telling me they are lost in the mail -- I think that is wishful thinking on her part). We will only have 4 weeks of seminary until we finish before we leave for the US in May. Things are really starting to wind down.
We hope everyone is well and happy!
Love, Lucinda

My young women's teacher told me never to watch R-rated movies. She said that the images and thoughts never get out of your mind.
If you need us to mail letters to your Iowa state representatives in protest you let me know. I wish that we could send letters as previous residents of Iowa, but it probably doesn't count.
Your young women's teacher was right! I decided it was just another reminder of how easy it is to fall into the gutter and I need to stay far away!
