Hi Everyone --

Well, we finally have some plans and some information on our trip to the US. John Deere decided that we needed to travel to the US to get our new visas for the next year, since they were unable (or unwilling) to take care of it here in India. The rumor is that it costs less to send the 3 of us to the US for a couple weeks than to get the fees paid and get it done in India. Whatever the reason, we are coming to the US at Christmas!

We are flying out of Mumbai on December 20 and fly into Atlanta. We have never taken this flight before -- it is a 14 hour direct flight. That should be a new experience. We then fly Atlanta to Omaha and get in early afternoon. We are hoping to sleep at Michelle and Ryan's place that night and then drive to Waterloo early Sunday morning (church starts at 1 p.m.). We will be in Waterloo Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, and we will either drive back to Omaha Dec. 23 or 24. Craig, Heidi, and Brice fly to Omaha on Christmas Eve as well, so there will be many Johnsons there.

We will be in Omaha from Christmas until Jan. 3, when we fly back to Atlanta then Mumbai. We will stay overnight in Mumbai, attend church on Sunday in the branch, then drive home. We usually get home about 4-5 p.m.

So somewhere in all this, we will get our visas sent to the Indian Consulate in Chicago, have fun with everyone, Hannah will take a physics final, and we will be ready to return. Well, maybe we won't be ready to return yet, but Doug needs to be in India for his work.

Any Christmas presents can be mailed to:
Michelle Hackett
12802 S. 28th Ave
Bellevue, NE 68123
This seems a bit forward, but I know this has been a burning question for many.

We had 5 at church today, the 3 of us and 2 Indian sisters.

We hope everyone is well and healthy!
Love, Lucinda

Atlanta is awfully close to us...why don't you just skip the plane and drive from Atlanta to Omaha (via our house)! I think that is a stellar idea. I know, I know, it's not going to happen, but a girl can dream. We're still excited that you get to come to the states though. It will be a party with a capital PARTY!

We've been worried about you all afternoon. You'll be in our prayers.

We're ok! We live 3-4 hours outside Mumbai and the situation has not directly effected us at all. John Deere called us in for a meeting and explained what level of emergency we were at (level 1 by the way). They are continuing to monitor the situation (which apparently is still going on), and if necessary, they will take additional action with us -- having us stay home, locking us down, moving us to a safe place in India, or even flying us out of India. It's nice to have an emergency plan to use.

We even packed our emergency bags, with our 72 hour kit information and clothes and toothbrushes. We are ready!

We were planning to have Thanksgiving dinner at the big fancy 5 star hotel last night, but we decided that was a BAD idea. We quickly went to plan B and had it here at our house. We had 9 and it was a delicious meal. We also got a service project in. My friend helps with a christian children's ministry and we wrapped 150 Christmas gifts for the kids. We had a nice evening.

Like I said, we're doing fine. Thank you for your prayers and your concern. We have truly felt them and know we have been watched over and protected.
