Hi Everyone --
There have been some exciting things going on here. I will describe them in chronological order -- not order of importance!

Monday night we were invited to our first Bollywood movie premier! The movie was "Saas Bahu aur Sensex". Sensex is the Indian stock market, like the American Dow Jones. The movie is about a divorced Indian woman who started to invest in the stock market and then got some other Indian women in her apartment building (society) to invest also. The movie premiered here in Pune on Monday night and in Mumbai Friday night. Monday night, before the movie, we were invited to a reception to meet the producer, the director, and the actors and actresses. The reason we got in on this is because our friend Debi lives in a bungalow in the producer's compound. That makes the producer her landlady. The director is the landlady's older daughter, the bad girl in the movie is the landlady's younger daughter. The others invited to the preview were the housekeeper and her family and the cook and her family and all the house help because they were in the movie in short shots and they cooked and took care of all the cast and crew as they were filming here in Pune. In the reviews in the paper today, it got one star. We took pictures to prove that we were actually there.
We got home late Monday night (11:30 p.m.) and were very tired. So Tuesday night we went to bed and we were going to make up some of the time from Monday night, when we had an earthquake at 3:15 a.m. Doug sat straight up in bed and asked what it was. Well, it was an earthquake, silly! It wasn't very long, about 5-8 seconds. The bed shook and the ceiling fan shook and the air conditioner shook and it was all over. Two days later it was in the paper -- a 4.8 on the Richter scale, and the epicenter was about 120 miles from Pune. It was my first earthquake and it was a very strange feeling. Needless to say, we didn't sleep much the rest of that night.

At 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2008, Amber gave birth to Levi Emerson Finch! He was 8 lb. 4 oz. and 21" long. His pictures are very cute and he looks like all his brothers and sister. We haven't been able to talk with Amber yet, but we hear all is well. Congratulations to Amber and Spencer and Corbin and Miles and Ella-Marie and Hunter! New babies are so exciting!
Doug went to the battery store yesterday and got some new batteries to put into our power supplies. This is exciting because when the power goes out, we can still have time to save what's on the computer and shut it down. That also means that the electrical pieces and things that have been taken apart on my table have now been put back together and the table is cleaned off! Yea!
Hannah received the 3rd book in the Eragon series -- Brisingr, by Christopher Paolini. She stayed up all night to finish reading it. Hannah recommends the whole series of books to anyone who likes reading.
Church was sparse today -- just the 3 of us, but it was good.
We hope everyone is well and happy! We miss everyone!
Love, Lucinda

Maybe you could volunteer to be in their next film, "Bartering for Bangles in Bangalore"!
Hey! I know we never comment but we always read your posts. Congrats on a new grandbaby (can they really have FIVE?) and on being famous enough to go to a movie premier. :) Hannah--we loved the pic of you posing in the bathroom. That was GREAT! We hope all is well there--besides the earthquakes...
