Hi Everyone --

It has been another interesting week in India. We started out strong on Sunday night. Doug's boss (Jill) and her assistant (Juli) were in town and we went out to dinner with them. They wanted Indian food, so we went to an Indian restaurant -- very good food. Hannah even liked it -- in fact, she ordered for us that night. This was the start of lots of meetings and dinners for Doug all week. Juli had lots of shopping she needed to get done, so Doug and I went with her Tuesday after work to Center Street. It was dark and we don't usually go out at night, but Doug patiently walked along with us and waited outside each shop (mostly because there's not room for 3 people in the shop) as we looked and purchased and moved on. Juli found lots of interesting Indian things to take back with her, including fabric. We then went to Clover Center and found a tailor to make her new outfits. By 9:15 or 9:30 the shops were closed and we went to dinner at Ram Krishna. We just had some dosa and ice cream. That's just too late to eat!

Since we didn't get all her shopping done, Juli got some time off before going to the airport. We picked up the last few things and went to lunch. She seemed quite satisfied with her purchases. I was to pick up her new clothes on Friday night and send them home with one of the other John Deere employees leaving on Saturday. No problem.

The ladies and I went for massages this week. The new place we found can take up to 6 at a time. We all have private rooms and private massage therapists. Two ladies had Indian massages (60 min). The other three of us had a foot reflexology massage (30 min) and a head, neck, and shoulders massage (30 min). It was very nice and very relaxing for $13 US. Almost enough to make it addicting.

I called about Hannah's BYU classes this week. It had been 2 1/2 weeks since we order them and they hadn't come yet. The gal said that they were stuck in North Salt Lake with Fed Ex. They said they would reship them DHL directly to Doug's office in Pune. Hopefully they will come this week and Hannah can get started!

I went with Heather's daughter Anna to her pre-school Grandparents Day -- Rumble in the Jungle. We played games and danced and sang and had "tea." Anna has a nice school and nice teachers. I don't know why, but the other grandparents seemed so much older than me . . .

We have another new grand baby this week -- Emily had Chloe Hancock on September 25, 2008 at 2:45 p.m. Chloe is a very big girl -- 10 lb. 8 oz. and 21" long. They both seem to be doing very well and are home from the hospital now. Grandma Noni is helping with Zach and Quinn at home -- also a big job! Congratulations Matt and Emily and Zach and Quinn!

It seems the rains have stopped. I also had someone come and look at all the leaking places in the house and that they would start "tomorrow". Apparently, "tomorrow" hasn't arrived yet, but hopefully it will sometime soon.

I guess that's it for this week. We love and miss you all.
Love, Lucinda
