Hi Everyone --
Another week has gone by -- and it seems that the weeks really go by quickly here!
My friend Heather mentioned that one evening she was feeling a little depressed because she felt like her life was in a rut. I told her that I get those feelings in the morning when it's time to get out of bed. We laughed about that, but agreed that we were in a rut an hadn't done anything new for a while. So Heather and her family flew to Chennai for a long weekend! Linda and John flew to Jaipur for the long weekend. We stayed here because Doug had meetings on Friday. (Thursday was a day off.) Oh well!
We used that day off to make our plane reservations for this summer. We (Hannah and I) are definately coming to the US -- BWI airport to be specific -- on June 17. Heather's wedding is on June 20. We will drive Aaron and Adam down to Virginia for EFY and we'll stay with Amber that week. Then we fly July 1 from BWI to Peoria to visit with Emily's family. We'll be there a week and then Emily will take us up to Iowa and Hannah will go to Youth Conference in Cedar Rapids July 9-12. We will spend a week with Michelle and Ryan and the new baby. Doug flies in to Waterloo on July 17. We'd better be there to pick him up! Brice returns from his mission and comes in to Cedar Rapids on July 21 (we hope!), and we'll spend that week at the doctor, dentist, etc. His homecoming will be on July 27 (we hope). Then our plans are to rush down to Omaha and catch the 10:30 p.m. train from Omaha to Salt Lake City. We'll get to Salt Lake the evening of the 28th. Craig and Heidi Halverson will be married on July 30 in the Bountiful Temple at 10 a.m. Then we fly back to India (we hope with Brice if he can get a visa) on August 1. I'm tired just writing about it! We are excited to be able to visit everyone and just be in the US.
We've been able to get some avacados here the last couple of weeks. One week they were really good. The next week they were ok. I made cheese quisidillas to eat with the guacamole. Very yummy! I did find some tortilla chips at the store this week -- I hope they have another avacado this week too!
Church was great today. We had a young man that has been off his mission here in India since January. He brought a friend. We had George, who will be taught by the missionaries this month. George brought his younger brother Martin (14), and Shubaum (10), who was baptized in February. There were 8 of us total, and 3 were non-members. We had a nice meeting! Next week we head to Mumbai for our second week meeting and pot luck. I think if we could get 10 people here every Sunday, they wouldn't make us go to Mumbai so often!
Have a great week! We miss you all!
Love, Lucinda
