Hi Everyone --

We've had some very hard rains this week. The monsoon seems to be over (meaning it doesn't rain every day), but we still have storms a few times a week. Apparently, Pune never had thunderstorms before 5 years ago. It must be the fault of global warming. Nevertheless, we had some bad storms this week. They started just as dark was falling and everyone was trying to get home from work. There were many "waterlogged" roads (with water 12-24" deep) and many people stranded. Indians like to drive through these with their cars and motorcycles, which doesn't help much. When walking through them, many Indians will fall or trip because of potholes or rocks or debris that are unseen. It was very bad those nights.

We had water coming in under our sliding glass doors from the terrace. I also assume the water was coming in through the walls as well -- even though that doesn't show up for a day or so. When we went up to bed, we found that the skylight in our bathroom was leaking terribly. To sit on the pot would mean getting wet on the top as well as the bottom. Anyway, as we were laying in bed talking about the leaks in the bathroom, Hannah thought it would be a good idea to take an umbrella in when going potty. I thought that was a great idea! I also thought we could multi-task -- shower and go potty at the same time. The water coming in from the leaks was about the same as the water that comes out of the shower! We had a good laugh over these and Hannah decided to pose for a picture we could attach with this.

I finally got Hannah and Doug's cold this week. It was a miserable one! I am on the mend, but Hannah and Doug are still coughing and blowing their noses and they are a week ahead of me. It looks like a long recuperation period.

We had 6 at church today. We are wondering whether to have Sunday school 1st and Sacrament Meeting 2nd so that everyone can be there for the sacrament. We'll have to think on that. The missionaries didn't make it this week to teach the investigator family. Maybe next week. The white board and markers works great. It makes teaching easier.

We are having chicken enchiladas tonight for dinner. I made the tortillas this morning. Hannah will put it together this afternoon. It takes about an hour to make a dozen flour tortillas. If I do it early enough in the day, it works out fine. We had fajitas this week. We are really looking forward to some quesidillas and home made salsa next week.

I guess that's about all going on here. We are hanging in there. We hope all is well at home.
Love, Lucinda

I am glad that you are thinking of new ways to save time & money by combining showers with potty time. Also, that is a great picture of Hannah.
