Hi Everyone--
We are doing fine here. It seems that the monsoon has let up a little. We didn't have much rain this week, but it rained hard last night and most of today. We went to church (still a long way) and it was great. We are losing 2 members (both priesthood holders), so maybe we will get someone else new moving in. One family did have a new baby this week in the Branch. Somehow it doesn't seem the same.
Hannah started school on Monday. She was very anxious and didn't want to go. The 2 French neighbors also go to school there now. She has met a new friend from Houston, but Indian. Things were very unorganized and chaotic, but I hope things have smoothed out a bit. She did come home smiling one day.
We went to see Ratatouille on Saturday. It was a very fun movie. The hard part for me was rooting for the rat yet knowing all the time that rats don't belong in a kitchen at all. Doug said that wasn't hard for him since he knew it was just a movie and a cartoon at that!
I went to get a shawl for Michelle at the shop and I found a great Batik there of elephants. I bought it and asked the driver to take me to get it framed. The frame shop was in an alley with an open front and a small table (smaller than the piece I had framed). They got it done that same day and I went and picked it up the next day. It's 47x22". For the batik and the frame it was about $32. Doug got it hung in our living room and it matching the green/red/brown decor nicely.
We did send 3 packages through the John Deere pouch this week. Michelle, Emily, and Amber should all be looking for those. Hopefully, it won't take a week.
We are going tonight to dinner at one of Hannah's friends' house. Her mom invited us. I think it was because Hannah was complaining at what a bad cook I am and her friend's mom had pity on her and she is going to teach me how to cook. I don't know. In India when you go to someone's house for dinner, you take a gift -- candy, flowers, or something. I made some chocolate chip oatmeal cookies to take. I hope those will be ok.
That's all for this week. We hope everyone is doing fine. I hope we can skype this week and talk with everyone.
Love, Lucinda

Thanks for the package Mom! I love the shirts!! You did a good job picking them out. The red and gold one is my favorite so far, but I'm sure it will turn my underwear pink. Hmmmm, I'll have to figure that one out. I'm sad that I haven't caught you online this week. I'll keep trying.
