St. Joseph, Michigan
Hi Everyone--
Sorry this letter is late -- we're on vacation! I had it on my schedule to write on Saturday, but I didn't make that either. We have had a really fun week in Waterloo! We have been thoroughly loved by all our friends! The scene at church on Sunday was worse than the first time. Too many tears from so many good friends!
Hannah made it to Youth Conference and had a good time. There was a good deal of driving involved -- Waterloo to Missouri to visit church sites. They went to Liberty Jail, Far West, Independence, and Adam-ondi-Aman. They also had 2 dances and a service project. They stayed in a hotel so that was nice and also took care of 2 of their meals. Hannah thought the DJ in Missiouri wasn't very good and thought Doug should do it again when we get back. That's a high compliment!!!
Dad spent the week going to work at John Deere. I would take him to work at 6:45 and pick him up at 4:00 p.m. I think many days he wondered why he had to work while he was on vacation. However, he did get to visit with many people he needed to in regard to his tractor project in India.
I spent the week going to different doctors. Amber asked if everything went ok, and I guess it did, even though it wasn't the way I expected. Cheryl Spaulding will mail my glasses to India. We all passed the dentist office. I passed my physical, except that I'm anemic now (which I blame on the change in diet -- no red meat). My colonoscopy is over and no polyups. I don't have to go back for 5 years. That's good news! I call in for the results at the GYN tonight. We'll see how that goes!
We got to see many people -- church friends and work friends. There was a pioneer picnic with Waterloo, Cedar Falls, and Waverly on Tuesday. The Relief Society ladies had a lunch for me at Olive Garden. Hannah's friends had a swim party for her at Hagberg's. Kendra had a surprise birthday party and we got to see many work people. We saw Mixdorfs and Reno and Teresa Rodegherio. I got to spend a whole day with Kathy Kline! We dropped gifts off at 2 wedding showers -- one for DuWayne Butz and one for Adam Keefe. It was nice all these people were having parties and we could just drop by and visit. Like I said, it was very difficult to leave and we felt thoroughly loved!
Oh, Hannah had to give her testimony in church on Sunday this week. Dad think's he pretty lucky he just slid right through that one without any difficulty!
We made it safely to Emily's house. It is very beautiful country in Southwest Michigan. I will write about what we've been doing here next week.
We love you all and have enjoyed visiting with you!
Love, Lucinda

Hey Mom, I got to play going to the doctor this week too. Twice. There's nothing quite like the joy of a gyn visit. And plus, I have mastitis and so I'm now on antibiotics. Oh well, things could be worse. Right? Have fun at Emily's. We miss you
